Keith Richards has confirmed his first solo album since 1992 for release in September.
As it happens, The Rolling Stones guitarist initially discussed his plans for a new solo album in September last year, when the Associated Press was told that he was waiting for the Stones’ touring plans to finish before putting a follow-up to ‘Main Offender‘ out.
“I had a ball making this new record and working with Steve Jordan and Waddy Wachtel again,” Richards has now said. “There’s nothing like walking into a studio and having absolutely no idea what you’re going to come out with on the other end.”
‘Crosseyed Heart‘ is due for release on September 18th via Virgin EMI. According to a press statement, the fifteen tracks will stick close to Richards’ long-term passions and inspirations, namely ‘reggae, rock, country and the blues’.
A lead single entitled ‘Trouble‘ is to be made available on July 17th.
