Kasabian have announced an outdoor show at Leicester’s Victoria Park for June 20th next year.

Six years on from the band’s first gig there, it’s been dubbed Solstice II and promises to be their only UK concert of 2020. Sam Fender is to provide the main support. “We’re absolutely buzzing to be able to put on Solstice II in our home town of Leicester,” Serge Pizzorno says.

“Anyone who came last time would know how special it was and to get the opportunity to do it again is beyond a dream.”

It’s announced as Kasabian continue work on a new album, the follow-up to 2017’s For Crying Out Loud, while this year Pizzorno released his solo debut under the S.L.P. moniker. “As a child of the rave scene, Pizzorno knows the potency of a drop and there’s plenty of moments here,” our review reads.

“Nobody Else goes full on touch the sky, summer party anthem and similarly ((trance)) has a spine of acid-house piano that sounds thirty years out of date but also never better. Both are life-affirming.”
