Karen O has returned to her 2014 solo album ‘Crush Songs‘ with a video for ‘Singalong‘.
The video is described as a ‘short film by Asli Baykal’ and is a window into the everyday life of New Yorkers. Check it out below.
Karen O was candid about the personal heartache which inspired her first solo LP, written between 2006-2007. She’s also said the Yeah Yeah Yeahs are ‘on a bit of a hiatus at the moment’ after releasing the exquisite ‘Mosquito‘ in 2013.
“We’re on a bit of hiatus at the moment, so nothing yet. We have to wait to get the urge, get that itch,” she told NME at the end of last year. “The time needs to be right and we’re OK waiting for that, I think.”
And on what she expects when the band does reconvene, she added: “It’ll be like muscle memory, this unspoken thing between the three of us where it all just locks in.”
