Karen O has posted a video for her solo track ‘Day Go By‘ which has been directed by Vanessa Hollander and Wilson Philippe, who work under the banner Wiissa. Have a watch on Live4ever here.

The song is taken from the Yeah Yeah Yeahs singer’s 2014 solo album ‘Crush Songs‘ and, when discussing its inspiration, she has detailed the emotional struggles in keeping with the overall theme of the parent record.

“I wrote this song when I was living in Los Angeles and my boyfriend was stuck freezing in New York,” she said. “I really needed my fix of being with him but was miles away. Wiissa brings summer loving to everyone who’s braving a cold winter’s day.”

Meanwhile, when speaking to NME just before Christmas, Karen O revealed the Yeah Yeah Yeahs are on a ‘bit of a hiatus’ and are currently looking ahead to an uncertain future.

“We’re on a bit of hiatus at the moment, so nothing yet,” she explained. “We have to wait to get the urge, get that itch. The time needs to be right and we’re OK waiting for that, I think.”
