Josh Homme intends to start work on the successor to last year’s ‘…Like Clockwork‘ LP soon rather than later.
Queens Of The Stone Age had a successful year after the release of their sixth studio album last June, and Homme has told Rolling Stone the band have ‘more than enough songs’ to keep the momentum going with a swift follow-up.
“Absolutely,” Homme replied when asked if he would be recording another album soon. “We have more than enough songs. We’re booked ’til September, but after that we plan to jump in the studio and get going.”
“When it’s time to make music, that’s about getting lost for me. To be a control freak is not half as good as being a freak who’s casually in control. You’re feeling around in the dark for something that feels good. As long as you’re not in an orgy, that can be an amazing moment.”
Meanwhile, Queens Of The Stone Age are all set to begin a joint tour of Australasia with their fellow US rock heavyweights Nine Inch Nails at the Entertainment Centre in Sydney on March 6th.
