A new single from Jarvis Cocker‘s JARV IS… guise has been shared online.
Must I Evolve? will be available to purchase exclusively from the band’s live shows as Cocker sees JARV IS… as ‘primarily a live experience’. The band also consists of Serafina Steer, Emma Smith, Andrew McKinney, Jason Buckle and Adam Betts, and made its live bow at Sigur Ros’ Norður og Niður festival in Iceland in 2017. They’ve since toured small venues in the UK and played Desert Daze in the US last October.
It was after an appearance at Peak Cavern in Derbyshire when most of this single was recorded, and next up is All Points East in London on May 25th and the Primavera Sound Festival shortly after.
This latest venture from Cocker follows the Room 29 project he undertook with Chilly Gonzales a couple of years ago, which ‘presented a song-cycle concerning the goings-on in Room 29 of the Château Marmont hotel in Hollywood’.
