After a performance in Iceland last year, Jarvis Cocker will take his band out to some small UK venues during the spring, when songs new and old are promised.

Serafina Steer (harp, keyboards), Emma Smith (violin), Andrew McKinney (bass) and Adam Betts (drums) will be with the Pulp frontman for gigs in Brighton, London, Ramsgate, Manchester, Liverpool and Castleton between March 26th-April 7th.

This tour comes after one of Cocker’s last projects, with Chilly Gonzales, also went out on the road a year ago. “Featuring contributions from film historian David Thomson and the stories of famous former occupants of the room such as Jean Harlow and Howard Hughes, the show will also attempt to unpick the way a heady concoction dreamt up in the immediate vicinity of the hotel went on to intoxicate the entire population of planet Earth,” Cocker said of Room 29.

“For the duration of one evening the entire audience will be occupants of Room 29. You will be greeted by our concierge and you will be given a key. Sit down, get comfortable – it will be our pleasure to serve up a night of entertainment like no other.”

Tour dates:

27 – London, Moth Club
28 – Ramsgate, Music Hall

April

4 – Liverpool, Williamson’s Tunnels
6,7 – Castleton, Peak Cavern
