Japanese Television have released another slice of cracking surf-rock in the form of their new single Crocodile Dentist.
Out now on Tip Top Recordings, the song is a one-take affair recorded in a village hall in Cambridgeshire with Kristian Bell of The Wytches. “Crocodile Dentist is probably the most garage rock thing we’ve recorded, somewhere between the Monks and the Munsters,” the band reflect.
“Recorded at Yaxley Village hall, no overdubs, one take, to 8 track tape. Tim claims never to have performed dentistry on a crocodile but he has had a fingertip sewn back on.”
Crocodile Dentist is set to feature on the band’s next EP Japanese Television 2, which has been given a release date of July 24th. That evening, they’ll be in London for a launch gig at the Waiting Room which amounts to their biggest headline show so far.
