James‘ festival summer is due to continue at the Darlington Arena this weekend after their 40th anniversary celebrations recently took in the release of the Be Opened By The Wonderful collection, comprising select songs from the band’s back catalogue reimagined with a 22-piece orchestra and 8-piece choir – Tim Booth said of it:
Life begins at 40. For our midlife euphoria we recorded a double orchestral album of some of our deepest cuts. If you already have a golden ticket, you’ll be catching this on tour and at Latitude Festival. Bring your wings and come ready to fly.
Also coming up in October are a couple of rescheduled orchestral tour dates with Joe Duddell, who oversaw sessions for that album at Blueprint Studios in Manchester.
