Interpol Lose Another Bass Player

Interpol have announced their bass player Dave Pajo has left the band, less than a year after Carlos Dengler also quit the group.

Writing on their official website, the band outlined Pajo’s reasons for his departure, and also revealed the arrival of Brad Truax.

“New personnel change: Dave Pajo is tagging out, folks,” they wrote. “Dave has decided to step out of the spotlight for a spell, and will no longer be touring with Interpol. We’re all friends.  It’s just an Out-of-the-hotel, Into-the-home sorta thing.

He’s going to be missed to be sure.  Aside from being an exceptional musician, Pajo is a wonderful person to be around. He’s sharp as a tack and funny as all get-out. Anyway, if you saw us perform recently, I’m sure you’ll agree – we were lucky to have him.

And now for the good news:

We have tapped our friend Brad Truax to perform bass duties effective immediately. Brad is the man. His musical resume includes work with a horde of awesome bands: Home, Soldiers of Fortune, Gang Gang Dance, The Broke Revue, Animal Collective, Cass McCombs, White Magic…He’s got taste and he’s got chops.  And that’s what we want.

Our next gig, and our first with Truax, will be in Hamburg on March 3rd.  So hop on over to Germany and come down say hi. We look forward to seeing every last one of you in the coming months.

Thanks.”

Interpol are due to begin a European tour on March 3rd, and will hit the UK with a show at Bournemouth’s O2 Academy on March 18th.
