Iggy Pop, Blossoms play Later…With Jools Holland

Iggy Pop

Iggy Pop was his usual charismatic self on Later…With Jools Holland last night (April 17th).

Appearing on the show with Josh Homme and Arctic Monkeys drummer Matt Helders – who both collaborated with him on this year’s ‘Post Pop Depression‘ album – Iggy borught out ‘Sunday‘ from that LP as well as the classic ‘Lust For Life‘.

And very much from the other end of the career ladder, Blossoms were also performing live after confirming their self-titled debut album for release on August 5th.

Getaway‘ was aired, like the rest of the album, after sessions at Liverpool’s Parr Street Studios with producers Rich Turvey and Coral frontman James Skelly.

“All the songs are very personal to me as they’re about my relationships,” frontman Tom Ogden said. “I tend to write my best lyrics when I’m miserable and heartbroken, but placing that over music that’s very melodic, very pop, but with our own strange twist.”

If they’re available where you are, both performances are right here:
