iC1s reunited in 2024 ten years after their split.
iC1s have today given a long-awaited release to their debut full length album What Took You So Long? after the original line-up returned to the studio earlier this year.
The band first began sessions for their maiden record back in 2014 as various dramas were coming to a head, but were in a much better place to resume that work following a comeback gig at Camden Assembly in November 2024.
“Some of these songs have been ringing around unheard in our heads for a decade,” drummer Andy Faulkner said. “So this album’s very much unfinished business – for us and all those that lived it together with us the first go round.”
“I wrote the music walking down Regent’s Canal one morning, rushed home and demoed the whole thing,” guitarist Jesse James added on album closer Soul on Trial.
I sent it to Dan that night and by morning, he’d written all of the lyrics. From there, we reached out to other guys after a decade of almost no contact at all.
