Holy Fuck are back with their new album ‘Congrats‘, due for release on May 27th.
It’s been a while – six years to be precise since their last studio album ‘Latin‘ – and the new album itself has been two years in the making.
“When you’re sitting still in a van and staring out the windows, you start to dream about all the other things you want to do,” says founder Brian Borcherdt. “This album is exactly what we couldn’t do then.”
Borcherdt has described the band’s response to widespread acclaim after the release of ‘LP‘ in 2007 – which landed Juno and Polaris Music Prize nominations in their Canadian homeland – as being like ‘Indiana Jones running away from that boulder’. “He had to step aside and let things settle,” he remembers.
