Haim and The xx were two of the guests playing live on Later…With Jools Holland last night. Check out the performances below if they’re available where you are.
The xx performed On Hold from their already-released I See You album while Haim previewed their own new record Something To Tell You, which is out on July 7th. “On the first record, we were really obsessed with mixing the two in a way where you couldn’t tell if a snare was real or a sample,” Danielle told Rolling Stone of their plans for this record last year.
“We still love that, but this time we came at it from a more organic, rock standpoint. Because when we play live, we realize that ultimately, we’re a rock band.”
Both acts are due to play the Glastonbury Festival next month, with The xx last up before Radiohead on Friday’s Pyramid Stage bill and Haim on the Other Stage as things wind down on the Sunday evening.
