Guy Garvey and Tim Burgess will be among those helping three of the UK’s leading independent music festivals pick the line-up for a new event in Manchester in November.

Taking place at Manchester’s Northern Quarter, Off The Record is a new multi venue and conference event from Kendal Calling, Sound City and Bluedot to be held on November 4th.

Lara Baker, Elizabeth Alker, Huw Stephens and John Kennedy are some other names from a group of 30 curators who will each be putting forward three of their favourite emerging artists – who have been together less than 24 months and not yet released an album.

“Each curator will nominate the top three emerging acts that they believe will make the biggest impact on the national stage in the next 18 months,” director Andy Smith explains. “Their combined recommendations will see the most nominated 30 acts programmed to perform. And these will be NEW acts.”

“Acts which have formed within the last 24 months and yet to release an album. We believe that new music is at a creative high and we will prove it with this unique event.”
