Graham Coxon has claimed Blur are only just starting to realise their potential after returning this month with ‘The Magic Whip‘.
Coxon’s first album with the band since 1999 has been met with a warm response from critics, and the guitarist has told Billboard: “It’s weird that we’re between 45 and 50 and we’re only just realising the potential of our relationship musically.”
“This process has shown us a lot more than I ever thought it would, what we like about each other and what we both enjoy about the music that we make together,” he continued. “If we had done this 20 years ago, it would have been a lot easier.”
‘The Magic Whip’ went to number one in the UK last week and held strong yesterday (May 10th) at #2 as Mumford & Sons‘ ‘Wilder Mind‘ replaced it at the top.
