The White Stripes’ anniversary is being marked on New Music Friday – stream ‘Elephant’ right here.
The 20th anniversary edition of The White Stripes‘ fourth studio album Elephant is streaming online today.
After the breakthrough of its 2001 predecessor White Blood Cells and the singles Hotel Yorba, Fell In Love With A Girl and Dead Leaves And The Dirty Ground had taken Jack and Meg White out of the Detroit underground and to the forefront of that era’s alternative music renaissance, Elephant lifted the duo to a whole new plain entirely; a first Glastonbury headline appearance, for example, following in 2005.
This special release carries a remastered HD audio verion of the original album with the addition of a 27-song live set recorded on July 2nd 2003 at Chicago’s Aragon Ballroom.
A limited edition 2xLP is also coming up later this month.
