Franz Ferdinand and Sparks have confirmed they will team up under the name FFS for a series of live dates this summer.

The new supergroup had already been added to a bunch of European festival bills, but now the partnership has been officially rubber-stamped with a promo video entitled ‘The Domino Effect‘ and some of their own headline shows.

FFS’s first live outing will take place on home-turf for the Franz Ferdinand half at Glasgow’s Arts School on June 16th, before they all move on to the Troxy in London for another UK show on June 29th.

Before then there’s gigs in Zagreb, Brussels and Paris, as well as later appearances at the Benicàssim, Pohoda and Lollapalooza festivals across Europe.

Franz Ferdinand were last active back in 2013 with ‘Right Thoughts, Right Words, Right Action‘, of which our review reads:

“If there’s something as crass as a formula at work here, then that familiarity rarely dulls its appeal, especially when Nick McCarthy‘s guitar and Hardy’s bass are so perfectly casual on the romantically inclined pop of ‘Stand On The Horizon‘, or in the painting of a beige suburban Britain as wryly observed on the Pulp-esque wife-swapping tale ‘Brief Encounters‘.”
