Frank Turner by Shannon Shumaker
Frank Turner’s compilation is out on November 7th.
Frank Turner has shared a cover of Grace Petrie’s folk cut Northbound which is set to feature on his forthcoming decade-spanning collection The Next Ten Years.
“Northbound is the kind of songwriting that cuts straight through,” Turner has commented.
And it’s a track that has always hit me square in the chest. Recording my own version for this record felt like the right way to celebrate that spirit. Have a listen, and if you don’t already know Grace’s music, you really should.
Turner is following up 2015’s The First Ten Years with various B-sides, live recordings and rarities from the intervening period, and is set to tour the UK during December.
“It’s been a decade since I last gathered all my non studio album music together for a proper release,” he’s added.
Outside of my frontline albums, there’s so much more music, and I want it to be easy for everyone to find. B-sides, covers, sessions, alternative versions – it’s lovely to have it all in one place.
