Everything Everything‘s new track ‘Regret’ has just been premiered on BBC Radio 1 as Annie Mac’s Hottest Record In The World and can now be heard via YouTube below.
The song follows the irresistible lead single ‘Distant Past‘ and will be available on the ‘Get To Heaven’ album when it is released on June 15th.
Speaking to NME recently, frontman Jonathan Higgs revealed the LP is set to buck the current trend by addressing some serious issues head on.
“I wanted to make something that makes you get angry and want to do something about it, because that’s how I was feeling,” he said.
“Don’t quiz me on the politics of Syria or Ukraine, I don’t fucking know, but I do know it makes me feel wretched and confused and anxious without having to know who’s right and who’s wrong. It’s trying to inhabit these people who do this stuff – like how would I feel if I was Muslim, or a rejected Hollywood teen like that Rodger kid.”
“With this record, I just feel like time is running out for the band. There’s a certain amount of time people will bother listening to us at all, and it felt like, ‘You can’t just hang around forever not approaching things that feel uncomfortable.’”
