Emily Eavis has three possible sites in mind for the brand new festival she’ll be organising next year when Glastonbury takes a breather.
Longleat was the preferred location for Variety Bazaar before talks broke down with the estate’s owners, and with Glastonbury 2017 wrapped up Eavis has opened up on the progress of this brand new event.
“We’re looking at three different sites at the moment, I’m really excited about that,” she told NME. “Doing something at a different space is really quite appealing and exciting. There’s something amazing about the familiarity of here. This is our home, this is where we live, we walk around these fields pretty much every day of the year.”
“We know each hedgerow and each tree and the limits to what you can put in each field. Whereas looking at new sites with different landscapes is quite exciting. What we can put in those spaces and having some rolling installations and stuff.”
Despite all these plates being spun, in a separate interview with The Guardian Michael Eavis has said the reformation of one band would convince him to hold Glastonbury in 2018 afterall:
“There’s one band I want to reform – if they reform, I’ll change my mind.”
Reasonable to surmise he’s talking about Oasis.
