Elbow frontman Guy Garvey will curate next year’s Meltdown Festival at the Southbank Centre in London between 10th-19th June.

“I see this as the perfect opportunity to shine a light on some amazing new talent whilst recognising and celebrating the artists that have had an influence on the new sounds of today,” Garvey says after adding his name to previous curators which include Morrissey and David Byrne.

“Beyond that I want my Meltdown to be a party where everyone feels invited and everyone leaves having had the best night out.”

Garvey soon releases his debut solo album ‘Courting The Squall‘ of which our review reads:

“What is he saying? Something fascinating, something different, something very personal. This is Garvey’s voice, not a collaboration or the coming together of like minds, but a series of personal notes being shared.”

“It’s a series of experiences Garvey has held dear to himself and has now decided to share, ones that had to be said in his own personal voice and style.”
