Elbow may just have primed fans for an imminent development regarding their new album.
A post on Twitter is short but has enough to suggest a typical grandiose concoction is awaiting us, and could be around as early as next Monday given its caption.
We already know the album is due on February 3rd next year and has been described as ‘beat heavy’ by frontman Guy Garvey. “It’s really quite chunky and beat heavy,” he told DJ Jo Whiley. “There’s a sparseness to the songs which perhaps we’re not known for.”
“The themes are ranging as always; great big themes and concerns for the world at the same time as falling in love, looking forwards and backwards and all of the things.”
After release is their most extensive tour since 2008, one drummer Richard Jupp will miss out on after his departure was confirmed back in March.
