A subtle Instagram snap courtesy of drummer Dominic Howard has signalled the start of Muse‘s recording sessions for a seventh album.

Howard’s picture, which can be seen below, comes with the short caption ‘The set up has started!’ as Muse aim for a release in the summer of 2015 if hopes spelled out by Matt Bellamy on Twitter last July are met.

Howard himself has also discussed the band’s ideal schedule for the follow-up to 2012’s ‘The 2nd Law‘, telling KROQ in April: “We’re going to go back in May and start working on some new stuff, so I think we’ll start making it this year. If we can get something out this year, that would be great, but definitely next year.”

Meanwhile, Muse are considered one of the bookies’ favourites to headline next year’s Glastonbury festival before the mad rush for tickets starts this weekend. New odds have been released in anticipation of the sale, and at 5/1 Muse are among the front-runners along with AC/DC and Fleetwood Mac, who are at 4/1. A little further back are Kate Bush and Oasis, both an 8/1 bet.
