Desert Trip sold out within three hours

The two weekends of Desert Trip sold-out within hours of going on sale earlier this week, reports Billboard.

Tickets prices went as high as $1,599, but that didn’t stop all 70,000 getting snapped up in three hours by punters eager to take part in what may well be looked back on as the final celebration of rock’s golden sixties/seventies era.

The Rolling Stones, Paul McCartney, Bob Dylan, Neil Young, The Who and Roger Waters are all performing at the Coachella site of Empire Polo Club in Indio, California over the weekends of October 7th-9th and October 14th-16th.

The Rolling Stones and Bob Dylan play the first night, followed by Paul McCartney and Neil Young and finally Roger Waters and The Who.

It was Roger Daltrey of The Who who made his band the first to be publicly confirmed for the event when he told Postmedia Network last month:

“I think it’s us and Roger Waters on the same day. It’s a fantastic idea for a festival. It’s the greatest remains of our era.”
