As one of the true pioneers of rock and roll we’d expect nothing less from Chuck Berry than to celebrate his 90th birthday by releasing a new album.
“I’ve worked on this record for a long time,” Berry has said in a statement. “Now I can hang up my shoes!”
Chuck will be out next year and is something of a family affair with contributions from his children Charles Berry Jr and Ingrid Berry – the former has described the songs as covering ‘the spectrum from hard-driving rockers to soulful, thought-provoking time capsules of a life’s work’.
“It is a great honour to be a part of this record and the broader legacy of Chuck Berry,” said Paul Roper of Dualtone Records.
