Coldplay frontman Chris Martin has said the band aimed to bring together all their favourite music, ‘from Drake to Oasis‘, on new album ‘A Head Full Of Dreams‘.
“We wanted to marry all the music that we love, from Drake to Oasis,” he’s told Rolling Stone. “There was a feeling that we don’t have anything to lose. We’re very comfortable now with the fact that we’re not for everybody.”
Fitting then that former Oasis songwriter Noel Gallagher provides guitar work on ‘Up & Up‘, while there’s also guest contributions from Beyonce and Martin’s former spouse Gwyneth Paltrow.
“It’s quite a hippie album,” he continues. “All of our records were a journey to get to this one.”
Coldplay have just announced world tour dates for 2016 which will take in outdoor UK shows at the Etihad, Hampden Park and Wembley stadiums.
As one of the favourites to headline next year’s Glastonbury Festival, the schedule intriguingly leaves that particular weekend, June 24th-26th, free
