Cat Power has self-produced a new album of covers which will be released on January 14th, 2022.
One of these is a new take on Frank Ocean’s Bad Religion, a track which initially made itself known whilst performing In Your Face from her 2018 album Wanderer on tour.
“That song was bringing me down,” Power recalls. “So I started pulling out lyrics from Bad Religion and singing those instead of getting super depressed. Performing covers is a very enjoyable way to do something that feels natural to me when it comes to making music.”
