Bloc Party have revealed their new album will be entitled ‘Hymns‘, and have premiered its lead single ‘The Love Within‘.
The news officially welcomes bassist Justin Harris and drummer Louise Bartle on board, replacing Gordon Moakes and Matt Tong who have both departed since the release of 2012’s ‘Four‘.
Frontman Kele Okereke has been explicit in his belief that these changes were required for the band to have a viable future, and told news.com.au back in the summer he would probably himself had walked away otherwise.
“At the start of 2013, when we were touring Four, I had kinda had enough of this vibe,” he said. I felt like if things didn’t change it was the point for me to step away and do something else with my life. But things did change, I feel better for it.”
“Obviously everyone is aware of the line-up situation, this stuff is just coming to light now but we dealt with this two years ago. We had our fights and our conversations two years ago.”
