Biffy Clyro declare Reading headline one of their favourite gigs, thanks partly to Trent Reznor

Biffy Clyro have described their headline appearance at Reading earlier this summer as ‘one of the favourite shows we’ve ever played’ – partly down to the fact that it bent the nose of Nine Inch Nails mainman Trent Reznor.

Speaking to Faster Louder, frontman Simon Neil looked back fondly on the Reading/Leeds weekend, and also reflected on the subsequent spat with Reznor, who took to Twitter soon after to share his belief that Nine Inch Nails had been ‘fucked over’ by a ‘lying promoter’ and ‘the band following us’, who of course were Biffy Clyro.

“Reading has become all of our favourite shows we’ve ever played,” Neil remarks. “Part of it was Trent Reznor being rude to us and we thought, ‘You know what? We’ll let the music do the talking’. We just had this candidness about us that we don’t normally have for a huge show like that, and right from the first beat of the set we just knew it was going to be a special show.”
