BBC 6Music launches vote to find best David Bowie album

6music

BBC 6Music is asking its listeners to pick their favourite David Bowie album as the first anniversary of the star’s death approaches.

Launched this morning by the station’s breakfast DJ Shaun Keaveny, the vote consists of ten records from Bowie’s long and varied career, enough to stop at most of those most celebrated junctures along the way, from Ziggy Stardust to the Berlin Trilogy and his Thin White Duke period.

“What better way for BBC Radio 6 Music to celebrate the life and legacy of one of music’s most extraordinary artists than to reflect on some his best records?” Paul Rodgers, Head of BBC Radio 6 Music, asks.

“We’re really looking forward to finding out which Bowie album is the most popular amongst 6 Music listeners and then listening to it together in Gideon Coe’s show.”

The album with the most votes will be played in full by Gideon Coe on Monday, January 9th.

BBC 6Music’s David Bowie shortlist:

Aladdin Sane
Blackstar
Diamond Dogs
Heroes
Hunky Dory
Low
Scary Monsters
Station to Station
Young Americans
The Rise & Fall Of Ziggy Stardust and The Spiders From Mars
