Arctic Monkeys Set To Begin Work On New Album

arctic_monkeys_1114254Sheffield band the Arctic Monkeys have revealed they plan to begin work on their fourth studio album as soon as their current tour is finished.

Speaking to NME radio, drummer Matt Helders said the group are itching to get back into the studio to work on new material: “We’ve said we’ll stop touring this album and we’re eager to start working on new stuff again, not have time off again,” he said, before admitting he would be keen to work with Queens Of The Stone Age frontman Josh Homme again: “It’s hard to say, both parties are up for it but they have a lot going on around the time we’d need to be recording but we’d like to.”

Frontman Alex Turner also told the station the band are unsure as to whether the new tracks will echo the harder sound featured on their current record ‘Humbug‘. “We haven’t tied our shoelaces yet, so it’s hard to say,” he said. “There’s a few things we’ve been playing around together and we’ve spoke about how we might go about it. We haven’t started walking yet, the laces are undone, never mind dancing.”

Arctic Monkeys are set to begin a US tour at Miami Beach, FL on Thursday (APR 1st.)
