Pure Love, the duo formed by Frank Carter in the immediate aftermath of his departure from Gallows, is now on an ‘indefinite hiatus’ after what has been described as a ‘hard year’ for the pair.
Citing creative differences when leaving Gallows in the summer of 2011 and explaining that it seemed the band had, ‘Hit a crossroads in their writing process and himself and the rest of the boys had different ideas regarding the sound of Gallows going forward’, Carter emerged as Pure Love in 2012 along side Jim Carroll, with the debut album ‘Anthems‘ arriving just over a year ago. But it seems that release began a difficult period, resulting in the following statement issued on Twitter by Carter late last week:
“OK. It’s been long enough. Time for some news After what can only be described as a ‘hard year’, Jim and I have decided to hit the brakes and place Pure Love into the phantom zone. It’s not an easy decision, and we both hate the term ‘indefinite hiatus’ but that’s exactly where we are at.”
For their part, Gallows replaced Carter with former Alexisonfire guitarist Wade MacNeil and swiftly released an eponymous album in September 2012.
