Radiohead drummer Philip Selway was able to recruit some of his favourite musicians for his third solo album; Hannah Peel, Adrian Utley, Quinta, Marta Salogni, Valentina Magaletti and Laura Moody all contributing during the recording of Strange Dance as Selway embraced being, ‘a 55-year-old not trying to hide that fact’.
“It feels kind of unguarded rather than seeing that ageing process as something that needs to be hidden,” he said. “I wanted it to have that space so if you’re listening to it you can lose yourself in it. Almost like a refuge.”
After completing a short UK tour earlier this month, Selway will play Rough Trade East in London next weekend before embarking on a European tour with more UK dates during May.
