Metallica’s 1991 self-titled album stands today as one of the US’ biggest sellers of all time.
Metallica will celebrate 30 years of The Black Album on September 10th with a remastered, multi-format reissue and a brand new album containing newly recorded versions of select tracks by over 50 artists.
Mac DeMarco, Weezer, Moses Sumney and Phoebe Bridgers are just some of those who’ve contributed to the Metallica Black List record, whose proceeds will be going to numerous selected charities, while the take on Nothing Else Matters by Miley Cyrus, WATT, Elton John, Yo-Yo Ma, Robert Trujillo and Chad Smith is streaming online now.
The limited edition boxet version of the original album, meanwhile, will come with various new treats including three live LPs; 14 CDs containing rough mixes, demos, interviews and live shows; a 120-page hardcover book; four tour laminates; three guitar picks and a folder of lyric sheets.
