Bristol-based Grandmas House formed in 2018.
Grandmas House – Yasmin Berndt (vocals, guitar), Poppy Dodgson (vocals, drums) and Zoë Zinsmeister (bass) – have followed up Always Happy with Small Talk, ‘one of the first songs they ever wrote’.
“It’s fast-paced, rough and straight to the point and the way we’ve recorded it captures our live sound perfectly!,” the band say.
“Lyrically it represents a situation that a lot of people have unfortunately been in – you’re stood at a bar. You’re having a few drinks with friends. You’re having a good time when suddenly a man approaches.
“He starts with ‘Hey how are you doing? What are you drinking tonight? He’s got a sense of entitlement in his voice. The small talk has officially begun. Get me out of here.”
Such is the re-emerging trend, both tracks mentioned here are out today on cassette.
