New Music Friday: Blanck Mass – In Ferneaux

Blanck Mass In Ferneaux

On the latest New Music Friday, Benjamin John Power has released his own latest Blanck Mass album, In Ferneaux – have a listen right here on Live4ever via Spotify.

This new Blanck Mass album has been inspired by field recordings amassed from a decade of global travels, all brought together on a record offered up in two distinct parts – Phase I and Phase II.

“In constructing it, Blanck Mass has relied not on conventional structures but instead assembled two lengthy compositions built from undulating waves of noise, atmospheric washes and a decade’s worth of found sounds,” our review reads.

“The result is a series of deliberate and provocative juxtapositions, a cycling into darkness and light and then back again through the contours of the glass and steel that would now keep us from humanity.”

“In ancient twentieth century parlance, the two ‘sides’ follow a roughly similar pattern, Power as if leading an orchestra accentuating moods by shifts both profound and minimalist.”

‘Possibly one of the first true post-pandemic bodies of work’, is how Live4ever described the record.
