Royal Blood have set it for release on April 30th.

Royal Blood have confirmed the details of their third studio record Typhoons.

It’ll open with last year’s Trouble’s Coming, a single that’s been followed up today with the title-track.

Upon the announcement, Mike Kerr has again spoken of the shift in approach which he and Ben Thatcher indulged during their work on the successor to 2017’s How Did We Get So Dark? .

“We sort of stumbled on this sound, and it was immediately fun to play,” he’s said. “That’s what sparked the creativity on the new album, the chasing of that feeling.”

“It’s weird, though – if you think back to Figure it Out, it kind of contains the embryo of this album. We realised that we didn’t have to completely destroy what we’d created so far; we just had to shift it, change it. On paper, it’s a small reinvention. But when you hear it, it sounds so fresh.”

It’s something Kerr discussed during an exclusive interview with Live4ever last month, when he also outlined some of the album’s chief influences.

“It wasn’t like we researched finding new sounds, it was music we loved for years, like French disco, ABBA, The Bee Gees,” he said. “With Trouble’s Coming, I was just thinking what it would be like if The Bee Gees were really aggressive. It made us laugh, which is the best beginning for a Royal Blood song.”
