Blossoms’ Christmas Eve (Soul Purpose) is on a double A-side single with It’s Going To Be A Cold.

Happy Mondays’ Rowetta and comedian Lloyd Griffith both have guest turns in the short film Blossoms have put together for their festive track Christmas Eve (Soul Purpose) .

It’s been worked on Edwin Burdis, and animated by Astrid Goldsmith of Mock Duck Studios, giving a traditional seasonal vibe to a track which the band have admitted, in the Christmas single’s own tradition, was ‘written on the hottest day of the year’.

The premiere of Christmas Eve (Soul Purpose) came in November just before Charlie Watts’ documentary Back To Stockport, telling the story of Blossoms’ hometown show at Edgeley Park in June 2019 was released online.

“We’ve worked with Charlie on and off since the band started really, so when the opportunity to make something together surrounding the homecoming show in Stockport came about, we jumped at the chance,” they said.

“We think he’s really captured the spirit of the band, and being a friend, he was able to get the natural moments you don’t normally see in a band documentary. We love the film and hope you do too!”
