Bruce Springsteen has become the first artist to chart in the US’ Billboard Top 5 across six decades after the release of his first album with the E Street Band since 2014’s High Hopes last month.

Letter To You has debuted at #2 on the Billboard charts, continuing what is now a record breaking run which started with the classic rock of Born To Run back in 1975.

Recorded at home in New Jersey, The Boss has said he’s particularly fond of ‘the emotional nature’ of what is overall is his twentieth studio LP. “I love the emotional nature of Letter To You,” he said.

“And I love the sound of the E Street Band playing completely live in the studio, in a way we’ve never done before, and with no overdubs. We made the album in only five days, and it turned out to be one of the greatest recording experiences I’ve ever had.”
