Maximo Park have confirmed the details of their seventh studio album after returning last month with the new track Child Of The Flatlands.
That cut will feature on Nature Always Wins when it’s released on February 21st next year, as will Baby, Sleep which has been picked as the lead single. “I’m so happy we were able to make this album during lockdown, as it’s been a challenging time for everyone,” Paul Smith says.
“After almost four years since Risk To Exist, we wanted to explore new musical territory (for us) without sacrificing our trademark melodic twists and heartfelt lyrics. As always, the passing of time looms large, although the songs contain more affection for the past than before, and there are occasional hints of the fractious, divided time that we live in.”
The band hope to tour in 2021 too, and have seven UK dates lined up for next June.
