Spoon to begin reissue series next month with debut album Telephono

Spoon

If, like some of us at Live4ever, you spent many a happy weekend morning with Adam & Joe on BBC 6 Music during the previous decade, then Spoon should be a band of particular familiarity.

If needed, there’ll be a chance to reacquaint with the group and their back catalogue when a reissue series begins on July 24th. Starting on that date with 1996’s debut album Telephono and Soft Effects EP, A Series Of Sneaks; Girls Can Tell; Kill The Moonlight; Gimme Fiction; Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga and Transference will follow by September 11th, some on vinyl and CD for the first time.

“Some of these albums haven’t been available on vinyl or CD in years, and in some places they never actually came out,” says frontman Britt Daniel, who adds of the restored video for Small Stakes’ which is trailing the re-releases:

“It’s a little glimpse into life in the studio in 2002 during the recording of Kill The Moonlight, filmed by our friend Peter Simonite.”
