Public Enemy have released a new track entitled State Of The Union (STFU), one which keeps Chuck D’s sharpened pen firmly trained on Donald Trump.
It’s released not long after the yes he did, no he didn’t departure of Flavor Flav that had seemed to have been sparked by a clash after the legendary MC sent a cease and desist letter to the Bernie Sanders Democratic campaign for advertising a rally with the use of his likeness and trademark clock necklace. As it turned out, it was all apparently nothing more than publicity stunt.
“Our collective voices keep getting louder,” Chuck D says of this new single. “The rest of the planet is on our side. But it’s not enough to talk about change. You have to show up and demand change,” says Chuck D. “Folks gotta vote like their lives depend on it, ‘cause it does.”
“Public Enemy tells it like it is,” Flav adds. “It’s time for him to GO.”
