Psycho Comedy have unveiled the video for their new single I’m Numb.
“Laced with a sinister tone and black comedy, I’m Numb is an unapologetic confession of one’s debauched mindset,” frontman Shaun Powell says of it. “With the tempo and rhythm reflecting the heartbeat of the character.”
Built around an earworm surf-rock riff, it’s taken from one of Live4ever’s favourite albums of the year so far, Performance Space Number One; “Sometimes an album just come from nowhere, existing in a world of its own, one only its creators fully understand,” our 8/10 review opens.
“Usually debut efforts, those creators have had the luxury of time to create aural versions of their headspaces. In the case of Psycho Comedy, they’ve been operating as a band for five years with limited releases, presumably beavering away to make their debut as close a reflection of their particular headspace as possible.”
