Michael Kiwanuka has postponed his immediate tour plans due to illness.

Cancelled is a scheduled appearance at the BBC 6 Music Festival, while the headline UK tour which started earlier this week has come to an abrupt halt, putting an end for now to shows in London, Manchester, Cambridge, Leicester, Leeds, Newcastle and Glasgow.

“Following medical advice, Michael Kiwanuka has today been diagnosed with acute viral Laryngitis, forcing the unfortunate postponement of the remaining dates on his March UK tour, including this evening’s show at Brixton Academy,” a statement reads.

“Michael’s appearance at the BBC 6Music Festival in London on Friday has now sadly been cancelled. The team will make a further announcement in the days ahead. All original tickets will remain valid for any rescheduled shows.”

A part of Live4ever’s Best Of 2019 series, Michael Kiwanuka has been touring his most recent studio album Kiwanuka, a stand-out release towards the end of last year.
