Thom Yorke has received an Oscar nomination in Best Original Song category for his contribution to Edward Norton’s crime drama Motherless Brooklyn.

Featuring Red Hot Chili Peppers’ bass player Flea, Daily Battles will compete for the prestigious award at next year’s ceremony along with songs from the likes of Beyonce, Pharrell and Elton John.

Daily Battles was part of a busy year solo-wise for the Radiohead frontman, when regular touring supported the release of his ANIMA album and its follow-up EP Not The News Rmx, which contained four alternate versions of the ANIMA track Not The News dubbed Extendo Mix, Mark Pritchard Remix, Equiknoxx Remix feat. Time Cow & Gavsborg and Clark Remix.
