JME‘s first album in four years, Grime MC, has topped the UK Record Store Chart.

Its increasingly regular placings at the top of year-end charts has clearly persuaded a lot of undecideds to take the plunge with Fontaines D.C‘s debut album Dogrel – it climbs to two this week, adding to a Top 5 which also includes Jack Penate, Pearl Jam and Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds.

It was in 2012 when the Official Charts Company began acknowledging the comeback of vinyl which first started over a decade ago with Record Store Day by publishing a weekly Record Store Chart compiled from the best selling albums at 100 of Britain’s leading independent music shops.
