Anna Calvi to be presented with the Fender Play prize at 2019 Q Awards

Anna Calvi will be presented with the Fender Play prize as the ‘most inspirational guitar figure of the year’ when the 2019 Q Awards take place on October 16th.

After receiving a Mercury Prize nomination for Hunter – a Live4ever album of 2018 – Calvi is set to get further recognition at the London Roundhouse later this month. “It is an honour to dedicate the Fender Play Award to Anna Calvi this year,” Neil Whitcher of Fender responds.

“As an artist at the top of their game Anna’s playing prowess knows no bounds, continually exploring and pushing the sonic boundaries of the guitar. It has been an incredible year for Anna filled with powerful performances including a breathtaking headline show for Fender at The Great Escape to support her most recent album Hunter.”
