Battles to return in October with fourth album Juice B Crypts

Battles will return on October 18th with their fourth album Juice B Crypts.

Now with the line-up of Ian Williams and John Stanier, Juice B Crypts was produced and mixed by Chris Tabron and is the first Battles album to be written and recorded on their hometurf of New York. “We loved making this record in our hometown of New York and cannot be more pleased that Sal from Liquid Liquid is on the track,” Stanier says of the lead track Titanium 2 Step. “It could not have been more perfect.”

“It’s about chord progressions, resolutions, returning home,” Williams adds on the album itself. “Take that and throw it into a blender of modern electronic tools like glitching devices.”

“Or use melodic lines and take them and regurgitate them and pulverise the traditional stuff but at the same time try and retain harmonic relationships while completely smashing them up.”
