Peter Doherty and Carl Barat will play two acoustic shows at London’s Hackney Empire on Thursday, September 5th and Friday, September 6th as part of the Somewhere Festival.

It’ll be a rare acoustic setting for the duo who have been back with The Libertines for some time now and who released their Anthems For Doomed Youth album in 2015. At the start of last year, they were said to be starting work on a follow-up at their new hotel/studio facility in Margate, England. “It’s been a long old while since Peter and I have done anything like this,” Barat says.

“We are both really excited by the prospect and I’m sure there will be a few surprises. It will be a right old night, at what is one of our favourite venues – the Hackney Empire.”

The Somewhere event is coming to London after launching in Tokyo last April, when Barat was also involved along with Phoenix, JUSTICE, Friendly Fires and Basement Jaxx.
